(Meal for Cold Weather/Long Range Patrol)
This meal provides an operational ration for two separate operational scenarios.
The Meal for Cold Weather (MCW) is intended for cold weather feeding: it will
not freeze and supplies extra drink mixes for counteracting dehydration during
cold weather activities. The MCW is packaged in a white camouflage pouch.
The Long Range Patrol (LRP) meal is very similar to the MCW, only LRP is a
restricted calorie ration meant for special operations that can only be used by
the soldiers once a day for 10 days. LRP is normally used in situations where
re-supply of rations is not available and weight and volume are critical
factors.
