Unitized Group Ration - Express (UGR-E)
The Wornick Company has actively participated in product development and
technical assistance for group field feeding products and services with all
branches of the military’s field feeding organization to promote customer
goodwill and stay abreast of new developments. In 2002, The Wornick Company
became a participant among other manufacturers and suppliers for the
development of the Unitized Group Ration-Express as designed by Natick Soldier
Center. The basic objective of this new group ration is to provide a remote
feeding capability without the use of external equipment (e.g. field kitchens,
ovens, grills, etc.) but provide a self-heating meal for group feeding.
UGR-E consists of a compact, disposable meal module with a safe self-contained
heating mechanism that is easy to use. UGR-E offers a breakfast or dinner menu
variety containing entrée, vegetables, starch (e.g. rice, potatoes), dessert,
serving utensils, trays, cups, condiments, snacks, etc.
